City Seen Years is a relatively new and yet very exciting ministry here at Bethel City Church. Launched in October 2008, City Seen Years have seen a rapid increase in numbers attending their events and activities.

City Seen Years is a ministry specifically tailored towards those over the age of fifty. Their vision is simply to love people for who they are and to inspire them to become all that they can be. The primary aim of City Seen Years is to encourage, support and inspire those over the age of fifty; the Caleb Generation.

Joshua 14:10-11 says, “So here I am today, eighty-five years old!  I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I am still as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then.”

The Bible is full to the brim of stories and accounts of experienced warriors who were significantly used by God during the latter stages of their lives. There is an impressive Hall of Fame of biblical heroes who were still fighting on the frontline of battle even beyond the age of fifty.

It is clear that the older generation needs to work alongside the young to establish God’s Kingdom in this city. City Seen Years are committed to guarding and watching out for those younger than themselves as they boldly do what God has called them to do. The over fifties have so much to give to those younger in the house. Their wisdom, maturity and experience combined with their love, encouragement and support are crucial for inspiring the next generation to run their race for God.

City Seen Years are strategically placed to reach out to their friends, families and local communities as well those of their own generation. In the future, City Seen Years aim to love and serve the people of this great city in a way in which only they can.

City Seen Years meet on alternate Friday mornings in City Café, 10.30am until noon. However, with the increase in popularity, City Seen Years will meet every Friday from September 4th 2009. Meetings include quizzes, testimonies, prayer, guest speakers, bible studies and even exciting trips away.

If you have seen some years and you’re not afraid to step out into something new, then City Seen Years is for you. You can speak to ministry director Diane Thomas or a member of her team to find out how you can join this amazing group of people who are still daring to dream for God.
